Conference Scholarships

*Attention: Second Round of Scholarships Available*

Narcolepsy Network has more conference scholarship funds and is offering a second round of scholarships. For those of you who might otherwise be unable to afford to attend our annual conference, and did not apply earlier this year, please apply here as soon as possible, as the second round of conference scholarship applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. The new application deadline is September 8, 2023.

Awards are determined based on:

  • Financial Need

  • Proximity to the conference location

  • Frequency of previous financial assistance

  • Other considerations may include the applicant’s willingness to contribute in non–financial ways during the conference.

Recipients will be asked to help at the conference. For example, you might be asked to assist with the distribution of materials or count attendees in sessions. You will not be asked to do anything that will take you away from the conference presentations that you would like to attend.

Minimum Financial Qualifications

  • Maximum gross income per individual household is $26,500

  • Maximum gross income per 2-person household is $35,000

  • Maximum gross income per 3-or-more person household is $42,000

We realize that everyone’s financial situation is different, so we will consider other factors when evaluating applications. For example, if your income exceeds the limits shown above, but your medical expenses severely reduce your monthly income, tell us about this in the application’s additional comments section.

Out of respect for personal privacy, we do not ask that you provide your tax forms, Social Security information, bank statements, or other financial documents. However, Narcolepsy Network expects that all applicants be completely honest when estimating income and assets.

Two types of stipends are available:

  • Registration Scholarship: Up to $375 for an individual

  • Hotel Scholarship: Up to $335 for a 2–night stay at conference hotel

Requirements

  • This year, Narcolepsy Network is requiring scholarship recipients to pay for their registration and hotel. Recipients will be reimbursed in person at the conference. This is to ensure that each participant awarded the scholarship attends the event.

  • Scholarships are only available to people who actively participate in the conference sessions. Each individual family member should apply separately.

  • Narcolepsy Network does not provide financial assistance to supporters who do not attend the conference. If you receive a scholarship, you are required to attend both days of conference sessions.
